• Interest details when you contact a teacher: your preferred class format, optional student name and age, your location, and any message you write.
• Messages you send to teachers, parents, or our team through the in-app messaging.
• Teacher/listing information if you claim or manage a listing, including details and photos you upload.
• Usage and device data such as pages viewed, approximate location (derived from your IP address), referring site, and browser type, collected through our analytics.
• Cookies used to keep you signed in and to measure site usage.

How we use your information

• Operate the directory and connect parents and students with teachers.
• Deliver your expression of interest to the relevant teacher so they can contact you.
• Send you related notifications by email, SMS, or WhatsApp.
• Provide in-app messaging and your account dashboard.
• Understand usage to improve and secure the service.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the service:

• With teachers/providers: when you express interest in a listing, the details you submit (such as your name, email, phone, and message) are sent to that teacher so they can reach out to you.
• With service providers that process data on our behalf: Supabase (database and authentication), Resend (email delivery), Twilio (SMS and WhatsApp), PostHog (analytics), Vercel (hosting), and Google (optional sign-in, plus Maps and Places for listing data).
• For legal reasons if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

Communications

We may contact you by email, SMS, or WhatsApp about your activity (for example, delivering a lead or a message notification). You can opt out of non-essential messages by contacting us, and you can manage email and account settings from your account.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data.

Your choices and rights

You can access, correct, or delete your personal information, and request a copy of it. To make a request, email us at support@desiclasses.com.

Children's privacy

DesiClasses is intended for parents and adults. Information about a child (such as name or age) is provided by a parent or guardian when expressing interest in a class. The service is not directed to children to use on their own, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

Security

We use reputable providers and standard safeguards (including encryption in transit and access controls) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, provide additional notice.
