The Lakshmi Tamil Learning Center, founded in 1987 by Lakshmi Shankar near Atlanta, teaches Tamil to children from age five through 10th grade. Now fully online, it serves over 300 students with 29 native-speaking teachers following the Singapore syllabus, free of charge. The year runs August to May with homework, exams, and an annual cultural day.
